1882 “O-over-S Mint” 90% Silver Morgan Silver Dollar Coin
In 1882, instead of making new dies for the New Orleans Mint, the United States Mint took existing S-mint dies and changed them to O-mint dies and used them. You can still see the original “S” under the “O” mint mark. What an interesting slice of history and conversation piece.
