• For years, the bullion versions of the American Silver Eagle have been struck only at the West Point Mint.
• In 2011 through 2014 the US Mint also produced “Supplemental” Silver Eagles at the San Francisco Mint because of the increased demand for the coin.
• In 2017, the United StatesMint also announced that Silver Eagles were minted at the Philadelphia Mint during 2015, 2016 and 2017 plus Silver Eagles were also minted at the San Francisco Mint in 2016 and 2017.
• In 2020, the United StatesMint needed to produce “emergency” Silver Eagles at the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints to keep up with customer demand.
• For 2021, due to continued increased demand, the US Mint has again produced “emergency” Silver Eagles at the San Francisco Mint and also a smaller amount produced at the Philadelphia Mint.
